The operation of modern electric locomotives not only ensures reliable daily travel, but also brings situations that require quick and skilled responses. In 2024 and 2025, we carried out several repairs at our RSSB Bratislava service facility, which tested our technical capabilities and ability to effectively deal with extraordinary events.
Each intervention is not only a technical challenge for us, but also an opportunity to further develop the professional potential of our team and strengthen the quality of services we provide to our partners. Here is a selection of five cases that document the scope and nature of our service work:
Vectron 193 690 – Collision with a tree – replacement of the entire cab
On the SŽ – Dolní Žleb infrastructure, there was a collision with a tree that had fallen on the overhead line. The extent of the damage required a complete replacement of the cab, which was carried out for the first time directly at RSSB Bratislava – giving us valuable experience for similar situations in the future.
Vectron 193 688 – Collision with a wagon – complete repair of the bogies
An extraordinary event occurred on the test circuit in Cerhenice, during which a locomotive collided with a carriage. Due to the need to uncouple the bogies, it was decided that the repair would take place at RSSB Bratislava, where it is possible to carry out the entire scope of work without the need to transport them to another service center.
Vectron 193 769 – Blocked wheelset – replacement during scheduled inspection
In February 2025, a wheelset was blocked at the Poprad – Tatry railway station due to damage to the axle gearbox. The locomotive was transported to RSSB Bratislava, where it was also scheduled for an R1/D1 overhaul. During the overhaul, we replaced the damaged wheelset, effectively combining scheduled maintenance with necessary repairs.
Vectron 193 689 – Collision with work equipment – repair of the axle gearbox
At the Galanta railway station, the locomotive collided with work equipment – a jack left on the track. We repaired the damage to the axle gearbox again at RSSB Bratislava, where we ensured the complete disassembly of the wheelset. The wheels were pressed out and then pressed onto a new axle.
Vectron 193 687 – Damage to the collector and windshield – repair in Bratislava
On April 13, 2025, a locomotive collided with a damaged overhead line on the ŽSR infrastructure – Štúrovo št. hr. The result was damage to the collector and windscreen. After an inspection by a commission, repairs were carried out directly at RSSB Bratislava, where the capacity was available to resolve the damage quickly and efficiently.

Thanks to comprehensive repair options and effective coordination, we are able to quickly and safely resolve even technically demanding cases without the need to transfer them to external centers.
