We have delivered the last of the 50 leased Vectrons ordered to Czech Railways

České dráhy took delivery of the 50th Siemens Vectron from us, which is the last of the locomotives ordered under the lease. With this delivery, they now have a fleet of 61 Siemens Vectron locomotives, which reliably transport passengers on international routes from Prague to Berlin, Hamburg, Budapest, Košice, and other European destinations.

"We began our cooperation with České dráhy on the delivery of 50 units in 2021, when we delivered the first six units. This was followed by 2022, during which we delivered another 10 units, and 2023, in which we provided another 12 Siemens Vectron locomotives for lease. We successfully completed the total delivery of 50 units in 2024, when we put the last 22 units into operation. In cooperation with service partners, including Czech Railways, we provide comprehensive maintenance for each Vectron, thereby achieving their high reliability. The fact that the Vectrons delivered in 2021 have already reached one million kilometers traveled is proof of their intensive use," emphasizes Tibor Čunderlík, CEO of RS Lease.

The modernization of the fleet with Vectrons will enable České dráhy to gradually replace older models. At the same time, it will contribute to increasing the safety and reliability of rail transport and provide train drivers with more modern and comfortable working conditions. In the new timetable, the Czech carrier will rotate 49 Vectrons, which will travel more than 47,000 kilometers daily. In addition to domestic lines, they will also serve international connections, traveling to Hamburg, Kiel, Warsaw, Košice, Žilina, and Budapest, for example.

This Vectron was named Honzík 50 at the very beginning of its operation and is the last of the 50 units ordered.

The Vectrons we have delivered to the Czech carrier are making a significant contribution to improving rail transport across Europe. They are helping to increase the reliability, safety, and efficiency of international routes, which is contributing significantly to the modernization of the rail sector.
