The locomotives of the Slovak Railway Company fleet are undergoing inspection

We began operational inspections of the locomotives in the fleet of the Slovak Railway Company in August 2021. These are R1 inspections, equivalent to a major overhaul upon reaching 1,200,000 km.

The first in line was locomotive 383 102, whose inspection process we summarized in an article at the time . Gradually, almost all locomotives in the ZSSK fleet underwent these repairs.

Currently, locomotive 383 108 is undergoing overhaul. We are attaching several photos showing this locomotive at approximately the halfway point of the repair and component replacement process.

The bogies are being overhauled at the parent company in Munich-Allach.

Many devices (e.g., fans, air panels, air conditioning, pumps, etc.) are replaced with new spare parts through an exchange system.

The "exchange system" model significantly reduces repair time and therefore shortens downtime. At the same time, updates to new features and hardware and software improvements are being made.

The completion of the last repair of locomotive 383 110 is scheduled for the second half of July, which will conclude the process of overhauling the Slovak Railway Company's locomotive fleet.

The fleet will then be ready to cover more than a million kilometers.
