As part of our long-term cooperation with České dráhy, we are pleased to announce that the railway company's fleet is expanding with modern and reliable Siemens Vectron locomotives. The integration of these technologically advanced machines is a key part of efforts to modernize and streamline rail transport in the Czech Republic.
We began gradual deliveries of Vectron locomotives at the beginning of this year, and by the end of the year, the number of our locomotives operated by České dráhy will reach 50.
České dráhy plans to continue renewing its fleet with the latest Vectron locomotives acquired through leasing, replacing older models without the ETCS system on lines where new safety equipment will be mandatory from January 1, 2025. This modernization will improve working conditions for train drivers in accordance with the requirements of European TSI standards and, at the same time, provide passengers with a higher quality of travel thanks to improved locomotive performance, as noted by Michal Krapinec, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of Czech Railways.
